Just to add, I disabled everything in Norton 2011 anti virus, reboot, and I still get the same issues.

The Administrators listing has the same permissions as the system one in that last screen shot. This one is for the SbieCtrl.exe file located in Program Files. Here's a couple of screenshots of the permissions.įirstly this is of the Start Menu shortcut.

The Sandboxie Control has administrator privilege level checked (it's greyed out and checked). The Sandboxie service is automatic and running at boot. I always get the error message once, the first time I start Sandboxie Control after booting, then after that I can close and reopen Sandboxie Control as often as I like without that error message popping up. If close Sandboxie Control then reopen it, UAC pops up again and I allow Sandboxie to run but this time I don't get any error message. When I close the error message Sandboxie Control is running fine and I can use Sandboxie no problems. I have to start Sandboxie Control manually, I get the UAC pop up and allow it then I get this error - SBIE2313 Could not execute SbieCtrl.exe (740). I then rechecked the 'start with Windows' rebooted and it still wouldn't start with Windows. I unchecked 'start with Windows' then rebooted and the 'Sandboxie Control' didn't start with Windows. I'm running beta version 3.55.06 64 bit just now. I don't understand any of this but so far it seems to be working. I've rebooted several times and so far Sandboxie seems to be working without problem. I've since tried deactivationg the HIPS feature in Online Armor then resetting the Sandboxie service to automatic, rebootin,g and then reactivationg the HIPS in Online Armor. I don't know if you want to go to the trouble of uninstalling you Norton security and seeing if the problem goes away? But then again, I imagine that, like me, even if you prove the problem originates in the security software, you'll still want to reinstall it afterwards and, like me, start Sandboxie service by hand at least for the moment. At the moment, each time it happens, I go to Services and start the Sandboxie service and reset to automatic, not that it helps any.

I then reinstalled Online Armor and the first time I rebooted, the problem reappeared. Each time Sandboxie started up perfectly. I suspected that the problem is related to my software firewall - Online Armor - so I uninstalled it and rebooted several times. I have been having the very same problem for 3 or 4 weeks.
